2Do you take credit card?
A: We do! We accept all major credit cards, including VISA, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.
3Where do you depart from on St Thomas (STT)?
A: We depart from the American Yacht Harbor in Red Hook, St Thomas. Red Hook is on the eastern end of St. Thomas and about a 35-45 minute taxi ride from the airport.
4Can you arrange a land taxi to take me to/from the airport in St Thomas?
A: Absolutely! One of our friendly drivers will contact you once your plane lands and make sure you get to the water taxi as quickly and seamlessly as possible. As we like to say, ‘once you land, you are in our hand.’
5Can you pick up/drop off in Charlotte Amalie, St Thomas?
A: We avoid going down to Charlotte Amalie to avoid rough seas. It really doesn’t save any time and the cost goes up significantly. A land taxi to/from Red Hook is quicker and more economical.
6Can you pick up/drop off in St John?
A: Absolutely! We love St John. We can pick up and drop off in Cruz Bay, St John.
7Where do you drop off/pick up in the BVI?
A: Just about anywhere accessible by boat. We service:

-Tortola
- Virgin Gorda (Spanish Town, North Sound and Oil Nut Bay)
- Jost Van Dyke
- Cooper Island
- Norman Island
- Necker Island
- Guana Island
- Scrub Island Resort and Marina
- Peter Island
- Anegada

We also offer direct service to your charter yacht wherever it may be anchored or moored. We also have land taxi partners who can take you from our boat to any land-based destination in the BVI.
8How long does it take to get there?
A: From Red Hook, St Thomas to:

- West End, Tortola: 20 mins
- Nanny Cay, Tortola: 45 mins
- Road Town, Tortola: 55 mins
- Hodges Creek, Tortola: 1h 10 mins
- Trellis Bay, Tortola / Scrub Island / Guana Island: 1h 25 mins
- Spanish Town, Virgin Gorda: 1h 45 mins
- North Sound, Virgin Gorda: 2h
- Cooper Island: 1h 15 mins
- Peter Island: 1h 10 mins
- Norman Island: 1h 15 mins
- Jost Van Dyke: 30 mins Times include customs and immigration processing. Times may vary depending on sea conditions.
9Can you take me/pick me up directly to/from my yacht?
A: Absolutely! Wherever you are, we will come to you and raft up alongside. What could be more convenient?
10I need to cancel my reservation. Is that possible?
A: If for some reason you need to cancel, you will be charged the following cost:
• 7 days + in advance of your reservation: no cost • 3 - 7 days in advance: 50% of the cost of the reservation • Less than 72 hours in advance: 100% of the cost of your reservation
11Where do you clear BVI Customs and Immigration?
A: We usually clear in and out at Soper’s Hole, West End, Tortola.
12Where to you clear USVI Customs and Immigration?
A: Depending on where we are going and the time of day, we clear in Cruz Bay, St. John OR Red Hook, St. Thomas.
13What is the earliest pickup time from St.Thomas or St. John?
A: We can pick up in Red Hook, St Thomas as early as 8:00 am and Cruz Bay, St. John as early as 8:15 am.
14What is the latest pickup time from St. Thomas? What if my flight is delayed?
A: Late arrivals into St. Thomas can be tricky, as we are somewhat constrained by the hours of operation of BVI Customs and Immigration offices. Although there are informal procedures for after hour clearance, the process is not consistent and approval is not guaranteed. If you are arriving into St Thomas later than 3:30 pm, we will do our best to accommodate you.
15What is the maximum passenger capacity of the Water Taxi?
A: We can carry up to 11 guests with luggage on one boat. For larger groups, we run two or more boats in tandem.
16What’s up with these government fees?
A: We don’t like them either, but they are kind of important. The fees include a few different charges (inbound and outbound from BVI), including departure taxes, cruising permits, customs and immigration fees, an environmental levy and other port related fees. The good thing is that these fees go towards the upkeep and maintenance of the facilities we use and protecting our fragile environment.
17Are there any other fees I should know about?
A: Nope. When we provide you with a quote, we include everything so that there will be no nasty surprises. The only additional would be gratuity for your captain, at your discretion.
18Is gratuity included in your prices?
A: Gratuity is not included, but greatly appreciated at your discretion
19What type of boats do you use?
A: Our main Water Taxi is a 2018 37’ Axopar Cabin. It’s the flag ship of our fleet and it’s awesome!
We also operate a beautiful 35’ Scout. Check out images of our fleet here. For smaller groups, we also offer water taxi service on our smaller open center console powerboats. Ask us about pricing for smaller groups on our open center console boats.
20Do you provide drinks on board?
A: A boat ride would not be a boat ride without a cold drink in hand. We always have cold water, soft drinks and beer onboard.
21Do you have a minimum charge?
A: Yes, we do. For most trips we have a 6 person minimum charge.
22What if there are less than 6 people in my group?
A: You will be charged our minimum charge, plus $50/person for government fees. We keep our rates low to make our services affordable, even for smaller groups.
23Do you join smaller groups together?
A: Yes, if we have groups arriving or departing at similar times, we can join them together.
24Why not just take the ferry?
A: The ferry can be a good option if your flight times and the ferry schedule line up nicely. Unfortunately, they quite often don’t. Infrequent schedules, last minute schedule changes and cancellations, long lines, over sold boats, and lengthy immigration and customs lines are just a few of the downsides of the public ferry. With Island Time Water Taxi, you avoid all of these variables that can potentially spoil your travel plans. We operate on your schedule. We even handle Immigration and Customs processing for you, so you can sit back, relax and get your vacation started! Island Time Water Taxi is also the best option if you are going to one of the more remote places in the BVI that would otherwise require multiple ferry rides and land taxis. We give you one connection to your final destination, saving you time and money.
25Do you need my passport information ahead of time?
A: It is very helpful to have your information early. We are able to speed up the Customs and Immigration process if we have passport information 72 hours before you travel.
26What payment options do you have?
A: We take payment by credit card or cash. Land taxi on St Thomas is payable in cash to the driver.
